Abstract
ABSTRACT Ningsih, Wety Asri. 2022. Developing English-Speaking E-Booklet for Second Semester Students of English Department. Thesis, English Education Department Faculty of Education. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Kediri, Advisors: (1) Dr. Ary Setya Budhi Ningrum, M.Pd., and (2) Ria Fakhrurriana, M.Pd. Keywords: Academic Speaking, supplementary media, Research and Development,, English E-booklet Since knowledge and technology are always improved every second, learning resources should be adaptive. Both teacher and students are required to pursue the change of every period. Then, the improvement of learning media is needed. Speaking skill, as the goals of language learning, needs to gain many attentions. It is important, but difficult to be mastered. This research intends to produce new supplementary media of academic speaking to facilitate students learn independently. The target of this research was second semester students of English Department in IAIN Kediri. This was R n D (Research and Development) which applied 5 processes, Analyzing, Designing, Developing, and Evaluating. All data were collected through observation sheet, interview, and questionnaire. The student’s need analysis reveals some problems faced by the students are lack of vocabularies and academic phrases, pronunciation accuracy and grammar structure. Reflected to all data, the product contains two units, Focus Group Discussion and Individual Presentation. There are some examples followed by vocabularies and academic phrases also some exercises within each unit. Based on the result, the students can use the product as supplementary learning media to learn independentl
