Abstract

Digital reading resources use is an activity of reading text in digital format using a digital device. Reading ability is an impact caused by the emergence of digital culture, so it is often referred to as reading from the screen, or in other words reading a text that is represented on the screen through a digital device such as a computer monitor and other gadget devices. Reading motivation in this reasearch is defined as the enjoyment and internal derives of reading activity. Students’ reading motivation is someone's motivation for reading activity. The objectives of this research is to knkow the correlation between digital reading resources use, srudents’ reading motivation, and their reading ability. This study uses correlational quantitative research as the research design. The researcher use a questionnaire that comprises 7 items on digital reading resources, 14 items on reading motivation and 20 items on reading ability. The respondents of this reasearch is 31 students of the third grade of SMP Islam Al Azhar Kediri. The findings of this research show that 6 (19,4%) students have high level in using digital reading resources use, 22 (71%) students have medium level, and 3 students (9,7%) have low level. For students’ reading motivation, it shows that 4 (12,9%) have high motivation, 23 (74,2%) students have medium motivation, and 4 (12,9%) students have low motivation. Whereas, findings on reading ability show 8 (25,8%) students’ reading ability score KKM. The result of this study describe that value of Sig. F Change is .000, it means that the value of of Sig. F Change < ,05., so, the null hypothesis can be rejected. The null hypothesis that “There is no significant correlation between digital reading resources use, students’ reading motivation, and their reading ability at SMP Islam Al Azhar kediri.” Then, the coefficient correlation is .654, so the correlation level of the three variables is High Correlation.
