Abstract
The researcher focuses on analyzing the metaphors that is expressed inThe Ghost novel written by Danielle Steel. The research problem will be discussed in this study as formulated through the following questions: (1) What types of metaphors that are expressed in The Ghost novel? (2)How accurate the translation of metaphor in The Ghost novel into bahasa Indonesia? From the research problem above, the aims of this research to find out the types of metaphors expressed in The Ghost novel and to know the accurancy of translation in The Ghost novel into Bahasa Indonesia. The researcher takes descriptive – qualitative design to analyze her study. This study is analysis metaphor of the novel. The data are descriptively based on the translation of metaphor. Thus, the reader could read and understand it easily, they know the metaphor that translated from the source language of the novel. The result of this study the researcher find out 3 from 6 types in this novel. 3 types that found researcher consist of 11 data from dead metaphor, 6 data from cliche metaphor, and 5 data from standard metaphor. All the data that analyze by researcher 22.
