Abstract

Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) is a combination of natural science (IPA) and social science (IPS) subjects applied at the elementary school/Islamic elementary school (SD/MI) level that has implemented the independent curriculum. The merging of these two subjects is done because elementary school/MI students' understanding is still at a concrete and simple stage. The problem in the IPAS learning process is that the lessons are monotonous, so fourth-grade students have difficulty understanding the material being taught. The lessons are not engaging, so students are less active during learning. By using animation video media based on the Canva application, it is hoped that students can improve their learning outcomes, easily understand what is being taught, and be active during IPAS lessons. The purpose of this research and development is: (1) To develop animation video media based on the Canva application to improve the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at UPT SDN 85 Mandepo Gresik. (2) Knowing the feasibility of Canva-based animated video media to improve the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at UPT SDN 85 Mandepo Gresik. (3) Knowing the effectiveness of Canva-based animated video media to improve the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at UPT SDN 85 Mandepo Gresik. The research method used in this study is the Research and Development method with the research model using ADDIE, which consists of 5 stages: 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Development, 4) Implementation, and 5) Evaluation. This study was conducted at UPT SDN 85 Mandepo Gresik with the subjects being 21 fourth-grade students. The data collection instruments used were observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The results of the development of Canva Application-Based Animation Videos show that 1) It produces Canva Application-Based Animation Videos that are adjusted to the needs of students, designed attractively, and improved based on suggestions from validators, 2) The feasibility of the Canva Application-Based Animation Video product is seen from media expert validation at 98% with the category “very feasible.” The validation results from material expert 1 are 100% with the category “very feasible.” The validation results from material expert 2 are 98% with the category “very feasible.” The results from learning expert validation are 100% with the category “very feasible.” The validation results for pretest and posttest questions are 100% with the category “very feasible,” 3) The effectiveness of the animation video media can be seen from the pretest and posttest trial results, with an average pretest score of 34% and an average posttest score of 84%, indicating an improvement in student learning outcomes after using Canva ApplicationBased Animation Videos.
