Abstract
Writing is an activity which should be done with great care and should be taugh to communicate with a reader effectively. These imply that writing is a difficult skill which need to be troughly practice. Think, Talk, Write is a method which creates a natural context for using the target language in the classroom. It allows students to explore their ideas and choose their own words and thus become active learners. It also give teachers an opportunity to develop activities in the form of interesting task on familiar subjects. The objectives of this research is to improving students’ writing skill on descriptive text by using think, talk, write (ttw) at SMP Airlangga Kediri in academic year 2020/2021 The design of the research is Classroom Action Research and was conducted in one cycle that consisted of four step : plan, action, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted at SMP Airlangga Kediri in January until February 2020. The subject of this research were the eighth grade students at SMP Airlangga Kediri that consist of 22 students. The data was collected by using test. These data was analysed using mean score and precentage of the total of students who can pass the test to see the improvement of pre-cycle test and cycle test and to get a conclusion as the result of this research. The reseacher make an agreement that students’ achievement improves if at least there are 80% of students who get score at least 75 and the average score is at least 75. The research finding shows that in pretest 9 students (40.1%) who got score of at least above 75. Also the mean score of the students in the pre-cycle test was 69. Meanwhile, in the cycle test there were 20 students (90%) got success and the mean score of the students on the cycle was 80. The result has fullfil the criteria of success so the implementation Think, Talk, Write of classroom action research that have been applied at second grade of SMP Airlangga Kediri was successful
