Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) in improving students’ reading comprehension skills among 8th-grade students at MTs Nurul Islam Kediri. The background of this research is rooted in the importance of reading comprehension as one of the core skills in English language learning, particularly for students learning English as a foreign language. Many students face difficulties in understanding reading texts due to limited vocabulary, lack of engagement, and teacher-centered learning models that limit student participation.
