Abstract

One of the factors that determines learning achievement in the learning process is the quality of textbooks. However, many errors are still found in Arabic language textbooks, particularly in the aspect of qawāʿid. Such errors were identified by the author in the Arabic Language textbook for Grade XII second Semester published by Viva Pakarindo, which is used as a learning resource for Arabic language learning at MA Al-Minhaaj. This book is one of the reference textbooks employed in the school’s learning process. Within it, there are still qawāʿid errors that do not conform to the rules of the Arabic language. These errors need to be evaluated, considering that textbooks serve as learning references for students and as teaching guidelines for teachers. This research is a library-based employing a descriptive qualitative approach. It uses the content analysis method, in which the researcher analyzes the Arabic Language textbook for Grade XII, second semester published by Viva Pakarindo. Data are collected through documentation. The researcher focuses specifically on qawāʿid errors in the Arabic Language textbook and utilizes various sources to build a scholarly foundation related to the issue. The aim is to present a classification of qawāʿid errors, both in ṣharf and naḥwu, along with the forms of the errors and their corrections found in this Arabic Language textbook . The results indicate that there are there are many qawāʿid errors viewed from the aspects of ṣharf and naḥwu rules. The classification of errors in ṣharf includes incorrect wazan forms in jamak taksīr, isim makān, isim tafḍhīl, and fiʿl muḍāriʿ. An example of an error in incorrect jamak taksīr is the word “عَوَاعِدُ”, which does not follow the correct pattern. The correct form should conform to the "فَوَاعِلُ " pattern, resulting in “ قَوَاعِدُ ”. Meanwhile, errors in naḥwu including the incompatibility of naʿat–manʿūt, improper arrangement of isim nakirah and maʿrifah, incorrect jar–majrūr constructions, errors in writing of isim ʿalam, incorrect writing of isim anna, and incorrect writing of ḥarf jazm. For example, an error in incorrect writing of isim anna appears in the sentence " أَنَّ الجَامِعَاتِ أَصْبَحَتْ مُتَقَدِّمَةَ اليَوْمَ " where the isim anna is incorrectly marked with a kasrah. The correct form is" " الجَامِعَاتَ which should take a fatḥah as isim anna.
