Abstract

Keywords: Animated Video, Plotagon Story. Hiwar Learning Hiwar is one form of Arabic language learning that emphasizes the ability to dialogue or converse within specific contexts. As part of speaking skills (kalarm), Hiwar learning aims to develop students' oral communication skills in Arabic actively and meaningfully. However, observations at MTsN 2 Kediri show that seventh-grade students still face difficulties in mastering Hiwar. This research aims to develop animated video media using the Plotagon Story application as an effort to improve students' speaking skills in learning Hiwar.The method used in this study was Research and Development (R&D), employing the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages: (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluation. The subject of this research was 32 seventh-grade students of MTsN 2 Kediri. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and learning outcomes. The data were analyzed using the normality test, the Wilcoxon test, and the N-Gain test to measure the effectiveness of the developed animated instructional video.The results of the study indicate that: (1) the development of the animated video media followed the ADDIE model; (2) the media received high feasibility scores from media experts (93.75% and 90.62%) and content experts (92.85%), all of which fall into the "Highly Feasible" category: (3) the media proved to be effective based on Wilcoxon and N-Gain test results, showing a significant improvement in students' speaking skills. Therefore, the animated video media using the Plotagon Story application is effective in enhancing Hiwar learning.
