Abstract
The basic components that must be learned are vocabulary, especially for students. Vocabulary is knowledge that must be acquired by students in obtaining other competencies such as speaking, listening, reading as well as writing. Without adequate vocabulary, students can not communicate effectively or express their ideas in spoken and written forms. A learning media that can increase students' interest in learning vocabulary is the Duolingo application. This application is an application that can be used for learning media in classrooms. Thus, the purpose of the study was to improve students' vocabulary mastery at SMAN 1 Plosoklaten by using duolingo application. The results of this test there is an increase in student test results with success criteria. The scores obtained by students in cycle 2 have increased from cycle 1. In cycle 1 there were 64% of students who successfully passed the test and for cycle 2 an increase of 80% of students who got a score of 75.
