Abstract

ABSTRACT Arofian Taufi Helmi, Supervisor 1 is Dr. Hj. Nurul Hanani, M.HI, and supervisor 2 is Moh. Sholeh Afiyuddin, M.Pd.I, Problems of Learning Maharah Kitabah for Semester 8 Students, Arabic Language Education Program, Kediri State Islamic Institute, Academic Year 2022-2023, Thesis, Arabic Language Education Study Program, Tarbiyah Faculty, 2023. Keywords: Problems, Learning Maharah Kitabah. Maharah kitabah is the ability to describe or express the contents of one's thoughts, starting from simple aspects such as writing words to complex aspects, namely composing. Maharah Kitabah is one of the maharah studied in Arabic language learning. and here there is a learning problem, namely PBA Semester 8 students who should be able to write Arabic articles well, but there are still many written works from PBA Semester 8 students which are not completed well. In fact, from semester 2 to semester 7 they have been provided with several supporting courses to prepare papers, articles and other written works. This research aims to describe the implementation of maharah al-kitabah learning, and describe the problems faced by PBA IAIN Kediri students in learning maharah al-kitabah. This research is qualitative research with descriptive research type. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. Then data analysis was carried out in several steps, namely data collection (data resulting from observations, interviews and documentation). The research results show that the problems of learning Maharah al-Kitabah consist of linguistic and non-linguistic problems. The linguistic problems are 1) Lack of writing practice, 2) Lack of reading 3) Difficulty identifying Arabic writing, for example difficulty identifying mubtada' and khobar, mudhof and mudhof 'ilaih, also confusion in distinguishing between the letters ta' marbuthoh and ha', while the problems are non linguistics are 3) Lack of confidence in their abilities, 4) Lack of enthusiasm to develop themselves in terms of writing
