Abstract

The present research investigates the types of peer corrective feedback, and the types of students’ response. The study uses a descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of the study are 29 students in writing course. The instruments are documents, those are two cause effect essay and peer assessment form. The data collected through media online there are WhatsApp and google drive. The data is analyzed using two theories: the types of peer corrective feedback by Ellis (2009) and the types of students’ response by Ferris (2006). The results shows that there are five types of correction that students use in peer correction, namely direct CF, indirect CF, metalinguistic CF, focus CF, and reformulation. While in students’ response, the result shows that there are six types of students’ response that students use in revision of essay, namely error corrected, incorrect change, no change, substitution correct, corrector-induced error, and averted erroneous corrector marking
