Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms of grammatical and lexical Javanese interference in English conversation spoken by the members of FPDP2 Kediri. This research also has functions to acknowledge factors which cause occurring interference in English conversation spoken by the members of FPDP2 Kediri. The subjects of this research are the members of FPDP2 Kediri. The researcher chooses every one who is in the office of FPDP. The characteristic of the members is the same, so there is no special classification of them. The data gained by recording their conversation. The result of this research shows that the members of FPDP2 Kediri tend to interference their using of English in their conversation. That interference is more likely in the forms of (1) lexical Javanese interference, and (2) grammatical Javanese interference. While the factors of occurring interference is the members’ background language and informal situation. The research finally concludes that interferences occur by entering other linguistic elements into English language that is being spoken. Therefore, it is expected that all speakers of English language would give more concern toward linguistic rules of English language.
