Abstract

The study focuses on the investigation of learning strategies used by English Department students taking intensive course at their first semester of their study. The sample was taken by giving questionnaires throughout classes where it was estimated that more than 100 participants submitted the responses. Based on the survey, it was discovered that the majority of students were less likely to memorize in order to improve their language knowledge. Instead, it seems that they are more engaged with more practical activities.
