Abstract

Carrying out learning activities in the current revolution era has become easier due to technology that continues to develop. Technology in the learning process is very important to apply because it can help learners obtain learning materials easily and help understand the material. One form of technology that can be utilized by learners is a official website. Students can learn Arabic directly from native speakers through official websites even if they are limited in distance. Students need a strong desire to use official websites because learning using those websites is classified as self-study. Therefore, the researcher wants to know about the interest of arabic department students in state islamic institute of Kediri in using official websites to learn arabic and to know the factors that affect them. This research uses a qualitative descriptive search method. The researcher will interpret the data that has collected in sentences to get the summary. While the method of collecting data in this research are interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study went through three stages, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions making. Students' interest in official sites was found to be diverse, i.e. there were students who showed their desire only verbally or by deeds, and there were also students who didn’t want them. The diversity of students' interest is influenced by internal factors, meaning affinity, curiousity, motivation, self experience, student personality, and biological factor. And the external factors that affect them mean the university environment and the close friends.
