Abstract
The objectives of the research are: 1) to find out whether there is significant correlation between Learning motivation and vocabulary mastery, 2) to find out whether there is significant correlation between Learning motivation and reading skill, 3) to find out whether there is significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading skill, 4) to find out whether there is significant correlation among learning motivation, vocabulary mastery, and reading kill. This research is a correlation study. Techniques of collecting the data are by using questionnaire and multiple choice test. The population is 3 classes from 12 total the tenth grades students of SMAN 2 Kota Kediri. In the process of collecting data, the researcher used random sampling to get the sample. The researcher took 25% samples from 12 classes of population. The total sample is 92 students. From the result of this study showed that there was correlation between learning motivation and vocabulary mastery. It can be seen from the result of correlations. The significant (r – Value) < α, 0.000 < 0.05, r – Value was 0.947. It means that learning motivation and vocabulary mastery had significant correlation. Then, there is correlation between learning motivation and reading skill. It can be seen from the result of correlations. The significant (r – Value) < α, 0.000 < 0.05, r – Value was 0.948. It means that students‟ learning motivation and students‟ reading skill had significant correlation. Then, there was correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading skill. It can be seen from the result of correlations. The significant (r – Value) < α, 0.000 < 0.05, r – Value was 0.979. It means that students‟ vocabulary mastery and students‟ reading skill had significant correlation. It is from research question about is there any correlation among learning motivation, vocabulary mastery, and reading skill. The result of significant F change was 0.000 < 0.05. It means that among learning motivation, vocabulary mastery, and reading skill had correlation. r – Value was 0.952, it means that correlation among learning motivation, vocabulary mastery, and reading skill had significant correlation.
