Abstract
In education feel some learners have lack knowledge about collocation. So the learners probably get difficult to make combination of each word. To reduce error of collocation, so the researcher decide to analyze the collocation especially on Republika newspaper. The researcher hopes, this research will make the learners have deep knowledge about collocation. The purpose of this research is to analyze the collocation that found in the Republika newspaper. According to the purpose, the object of study in this research is to find out the collocation on the Republika newspaper. This research uses a qualitative method. The object of the data in this research is the Republika newspaper and to collect the data the researcher took 6 news by random the date, month, year and there are three rubrics in Republika newspaper such as education, tourism, economic. The main instrument of this research is the researcher self. In addition, to analyze data, the researcher uses Online Oxford Collocation Dictionary to help researcher search and check the collocation words. The analysis data of this research is using Michael McCarty and Felicity O’Dell theory. The results of the research are fourty seven collocations in the Republika newspaper. There are 28 collocations form adjective + noun, 5 collocations form verb + noun, 8 collocations form noun + noun, 1 collocation form adverb + adjective, and 4 collocations form verb + preposition. The form of collocation that frequently appeared in the Republika newspaper. First, the total education rubric is 14 collocations. Second, the total of tourism is 17 collocations. And the last, the total in the economic rubric there is 15 collocations.
