Abstract
Indonesian word not always pure, but it has borrowing from the other language to enrich the Indonesian vocabulary. In this case, Indonesian has borrowing some of languages from another country likes English, Germany, Dutch, and Arabic. On my research, I will discuss about English borrowing word. English borrowing words have indeed become trendy at all levels. Recent phenomenon shows that there increasing of English borrowing word in biography. The objectives of this research are to analyze the borrowing types and to find out to what extent the writing of English borrowing words in Andy F. Noya’s Biography conform to spelling adjustment the guidlines of EYD (Ejaan Yang Disempurnakan). This study is focus on borrowing words in the book of Andy F. Noya’s Biography. The study using descriptive qualitative as a research design. The instrument is the writer herself. The source of data is taken from Andy F. Noya’s Biography that published on Jakarta, August 2015. Of the steps analysis: selecting the borrowing words, analyzing the data based on the problem discussed and drawing conclusion based on finding and discussion. The result shows that there are 226 borrowing words found in Andy F. Noya Biography. Ir divides are 56 pure borrowing and 170 naturalized borrowing. For pure borrowing there are two categories; phonological change, and the similar pronounciation and spelling. It divides are 44 phonological change and 12 the similar pronounciation and spelling. And the naturalized borrowing, the researcher will analyze specification into two parts which are orthographically and phonologically.
