Abstract
Multicultural values has been stated as one of the aspects in English teaching. Learning language leads the learner to learn the cultures, literatures, historical perspectives, human experiences and also human preferences of the said language. Students’ perceptive on the presence of multicultural values is expected to bring some encourages on the process of learning and teaching. Students’ understanding of multicultural is expected to affect the students’ attitude in learning the language and also the language ability. Therefore, the researcher is interested in finding out the correlation among students’ perception on multicultural values, students’ language learning attitude and English speaking ability. This research used multiple correlation design. The data were obtained through spreading questionnaire of students’ perception on multicultural values, questionnaire of students’ language learning attitude and test of speaking ability by having a private online test. The data were analysed by using a SPSS Program version 24 namely multiple linier regression that focus on correlation among students’ perception on multicultural values into speaking ability, correlation between students’ language learning attitude into speaking ability and whether a positive and significant relationship among students’ perception on multicultural values and students’ language learning attitude with English speaking ability of second grade students of SMAN 1 Kediri. The findings of this research indicate that (1) there is a significant correlation between students’ perception on multicultural values and students’ speaking ability (2) there is a significant correlation between students’ language learning attitude and students’ English speaking ability (3) there is a significant correlation between students’ perception on multi-cultural values and students’ language learning attitude (4) there is a significant correlation among students’ perception on multi-cultural values, students’ language learning attitudes and students’ English speaking ability.
