Abstract

AZIZAH, SITI NUR LAILATUL. Advisor Dr. TAUFIK ALAMIN, M.Si dan KHOLILA MUKAROMAH, S.Th.I, M.Hum, Tafsir Moderation of Religion in Website Articles tafsiralquran.id (Critical Discourse Analysis), Theses, Department of Qur’anic and Tafsir Studies, Faculty of Ushuluddin and Da'wah, IAIN Kediri, 2025. Keywords: Interpretation of Religious Moderation, Intolerance, tafsiralquran.id. Behind the rapid development of digital technology, the reality has a negative impact such as religious intolerance. Islam as a religion that is raḥmatan lil-'ālamin always offers solutions in dealing with these problems. In order for Islamic messages to reach netizens, social media has become a strategic tool in millennial da'wah. One of the websites that plays an active role in this regard is the website tafsiralquran.id. Through simple, contextual, and easy-to-understand interpretations, the content presented is always relevant and comprehensive to the needs of Indonesian digital society. This research is a descriptive-analys research with a virtual ethnography approach. This research stems from two problem formulations, namely: (1) How is the presentation of religious moderation in tafsiralquran.id website, and (2) How is the discourse of religious moderation in tafsiralquran.id website articles viewed from the dimensions of text, social cognition, and social context. Furthermore, the object of study is focused on five articles that substantially discuss the issue of religious moderation and were published between 2020 and 2024. The five articles are: “Spirit Moderasi dalam Surah al-Isra Ayat 29 dan 110”, “Tafsir Tarbawi: Nilai-Nilai Moderasi Beragama dalam Pendidikan Islam”, “Kitab al-Tafsir al-Maqashidi Karya Abdul Mustaqim: Hifz Al-Din dalam Kehidupan Keberagamaan yang Multikultural”, “Merawat Nilai-nilai Kebangsaan dalam Tafsir Lisan M. Quraish Shihab”, and “Menjadi Muslim Moderat menurut Habib Ja’far”. Based on the research results show: First, that the interpretation of religious moderation is presented with a thematic-contextual approach that refers to classical to contemporary mufassirs, and uses popular-educative language. Second, the discourse built from the discourse structure shows a structured discursive pattern and consistently voices moderate, tolerant, and contextual Islamic values. Meanwhile, the social cognition dimension reflects collective knowledge that supports moderate Islamic values through the representation of figures, writers, social roles, and responses to the nation's actual situation. Meanwhile, the social context dimension shows that the entire tafsir discourse does not stand alone in an empty space, but is influenced by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, which plays a role in shaping the narrative of religious moderation to tackle radicalism. Then the website tafsiralquran.id is realized with contributors as discursive agents.
