Writing is one difficult problem in English skill. When the students want to start to write, they are confused to express their idea. Think-Talk-Write is one of strategies which is suitable in teaching writing. Think-Talk-Write includes think activities seen when the students read the text, then making a note about what they have read, talk activities occurs when students interact in groups to discuss the contents notes and write activities seen in the process of writing the results of think and talk. Think-Talk-Write (TTW) is used to develop writing and practicing the language fluently before writing Based on those explanation, the researcher wants to do the experiment by using Think-Talk-Write technique in teaching writing descriptive text. This study is aimed to know whether teaching writing using Think-Talk-Write technique is effective or not to the first grade of MA Ma'arif Bakung Udanawu Blitar. The study was carried out in a population of the students at the first grade of MA Ma'arif Bakung Udanawu Blitar and also becoming the sample of the study. The researcher determined these two classes as the subject of this study because the classes had the same basic skill in writing English text. There were 72 students in those two classes; each class consisted 36 students. The data collection involved a number of instruments, the researcher used pre test and post test to know the students writing skill, Pre test was done to know the basic skill of the students in writing descriptive text before getting the treatment. While post test was done to know the students writing skill after getting the treatment from the researcher. The result of the research has been shown in the research finding and has been discussed that the result of the significant between experimental group and control group, it is acquired that the significant of two tailed is 0.000. It means that p<a (0,000 < 0,05) based on the result the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, using Think, Talk, Write on students' writing was effective.
