Abstract
This study examines the types of figurative language and interprets the meanings in As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow novel especially chapters 20 to 27. Using qualitative descriptive approach. The research uses document analysis as the primary method and is grounded in Laurence Perrine’s theoretical framework. The data were obtained through close reading and systematic identification of figurative expressions, followed by data reduction, tabulation, narrative description, and conclusion drawing, with expert validation applied as a triangulation technique to ensure the credibility of the findings. The results indicate the presence of nine figurative language types out of Perrine’s twelve categories, totaling 144 instances. Including simile, metaphor, personification, apostrophe, synecdoche, metonymy, symbol, hyperbole, and irony, with personification as the most dominant.
