Abstract
Numerous research studies on Native and Non-Native English Speaking Teacher as Teachers of English are fairly recent phenomenon as debating issue in Education field. Moreover, there is a stereotype that NEST is considered to be a good example of an English Teacher that makes Non-NNEST leave little room to receive good perception. So that, this study was aimed to investigate the students' insights towards NEST and NNEST's teaching strategies conducted in MAN Prambon, Nganjuk to proof or to break that stereotype. The aim of asking the students' perception was because the students are considered as the direct object of teaching, so that they can provide feedback on the quality of teaching they encounter during the lesson. Conducted in a class of MAN Prambon, Nganjuk that was intensively taught by Native and Non-Native Teacher consisting of 20 students, the used of a set of questionnaire on this study was generated and modified from some earlier researches on the same field. Using the mixed method, for both quantitative data using questionnaire and qualitative data using Focus Group Discussion (FGD), the finding revealed that the students perceived NEST better than NNEST in conducting teaching strategies on the strength level of agreement that achieved on 75% while NNEST just 65%. Although, both of them have their own strength and weaknesses in teaching strategies.
