Abstract

This study is aimed to improve reading comprehension skill at MTs N 2 Kediri. In the preliminary observation the researcher found that the students had a problems in reading comprehension. One of the problems is the ability of students in comprehending reading text is low and lack of vocabulary. The research design of this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR). To do this research, the researcher used the instrument reading test and Scoring guide. The subject of the research is the students of class VII H at the academic 2017/2018.the students of this class consist of 16 males and 22 females. The criterion of the success is the students score test if the students got 75 minimally from the criteria of minimum score (KKM) and the percentage of successful which want to reach is 80%. The result of the research shows that the researcher has two cycles to implement PORPE successfully. For the result in cycle 1 the score test, the average of the students’ score was 74. Beside the percentage of the successful students was 61% (23 students). In cycle 1 was not successful and it is needed to revise the treatment to be better. In cycle 2, the average of the students’ score in was 81. The percentage of the successful students was 87% (33 students). In this research, it meant that the researcher reached the percentage of the successful students more than 80%. Cycle 2 was successful and it does not need to revise treatment.
