Abstract
This research purposed to find out the problems in English faced by non English department students of STAIN Kediri. The research design of this research is descriptive qualitative. The subject of the study was third semester of psychology department students of STAIN Kediri. The total of participant were 92 but the the data collected was 79. The result of the research which found that Aptitude was the source of demotivation that turned out to be the most frequent. They mentioned a) Aptitude (78%) b) motivation (74%) c) learning styles (57%) d) learning strategies (77%) and e) personality (70%). From the frequency showed that the aptitude can influence the problems in teaching learning English to psychology department students of STAIN Kediri. From the factors aptitude is the first factors that can influence the students in their English learning. The second is learning strategies. The third that can influence in learning English is motivation. The fourth is personality and the last is learning styles. The students believe that aptitude gives the strong influence, when the students have the aptitude they can improve their English learning. But, the aptitude is must increase with the study and the guidance of the teacher also helps the students to improve their English learning.
