There are six methods used by the students in translating Asia Pacific’s news report. They are; (1) word for word translation, (2) literal translation, (3) faithful translation, (4) semantic translation, (5) free translation, and (6) communicative translation. The most student’s method used by the students was literal translation. Around 19 students used literal translation, 11 students used word for word translation, 4 students used faithful translation, 2 students used semantic translation, and 1 students used free translation, and 3 students used communicative translation. Here, it can be conclude that the most frequently of student’s method used by the students were Literal translation. Literal translation method is more frequently used because the translator tried to keep the meaning in the source language by converting the construction of the source language into the intended construction of the target language.
