Abstract

Reading is an activity that cannot be separated from the learning process. The benefits gained by developing the habit of reading can increase one's knowledge and thinking skills. however, in the process of developing this habit, of course, there will be various problems that will happen, starting from media that is less supportive to the student's lack of interest in learning media that still seems traditional. Based on the problems above, the researcher wants to develop an Android-based learning and reading test application called LEXICON APPLICATION which is used using the CSS programming language and the MIT App Inventor developer website to support students' interest in learning media that still seems traditional. The purpose of this application is to produce thefeasibility of reading learning applications with Descriptive text material, and Narrative text at SMK PAWYATAN DAHA 2. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, namely (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The resulting product is LEXICON APPLICATION, a media that supports reading learning and reading test media. The results of this study showed that the LEXICON APPLICATION with descriptive and narrative text material that had been developed was suitable for learning reading in English subjects at SMK PAWYATAN DAHA 2.
