Abstract
In globalization era cognitive skill is really needed to complete selfquality, two of them are self-efficacy and decision making. In academic side selfefficacy as the power of someone to do something for their future, self-efficacy means self-confidence that the one believe in their self-ability to do some action, and it is important for them in order students will not depend on other people in every situation. Decision making is also quite important for them especially for the future of students. When students have to decide something they have to know the reason or the impact why they decide something. Two cognitive skills should be owned by young generation in our country in order they will have good character especially in academic movement. This study focus on the correlation between self-efficacy and decision making by taking the data from 67 participant of debate competition in EJEC (East Java English Competition), it is one of the names of English Competition in East Java Level, located in SMK PGRI 2 Kediri. They did the test by answering 26 items questionnaire for decision making and 30 items of self-efficacy. The questionnaire was given in bahasa Indonesia. By using Kendall‟s tau Correlation ver.21 for windows, it can be seen that there is a high correlation between self-efficacy and decision making with the r score ,683 with the significance value is .000, so Ho is rejected. The result is high in 0,600-700. It means the (Ha) cannot be rejected, it must be accepted.
