Studying literary is very important, because it relates with the real life around us. The problem in the real life relates literary work, such as: violence, forward children, revenge, etc. the literary work has a lot of elements in that we can learn many things as like vocabulary, knowledge, moral message, etc. in this research is discussing the novel “The Tiger’s Child” by Torey Hayden. This novel had been popular among the novel. This history is interested to be discussed. The reseacher choose a novel as the object of the study. The researcher limits her research on: The reseacher analyzes focus on two main characters that are Torey Hayden and Sheila, The resecher analyzes focus on Torey Hayden’s way to teach Sheila as a student with special need. The writer uses qualitative as research design to discuss the novel. The objective this study discusses “The Tiger’s Child” as the primary data source. The researcher uses utterance, description, and narration in Torey Hayden novel. The study uses on kind of instrument. The instrument is the researcher self. The researcher become data collector and interpreter. The researcher uses the triangulation to compete the data with other data. It will be used to discuss the problem of this thesis “ Torey Hayden’s way in teaching student with special need. “The Tigers Child”. The primary source is coming from the novel of “ The Tiger’s Child” itself. The secondary data source is coming from books, internet, and biography of Torey Hayden. Torey hayden’s way in teaching student with special need is very good. She is a good psychology teacher. She has some methods to give treatment her students. Her life changes when Sheila comes in her class. Sheila has bad behavior. She is aggressive girl. She often makes damage everywhere. Worse, she almost kills a baby. Sheila tries hard to make Sheila’s behavior become good. There are two ways which is used by Torey Hayden in teaching Sheila. The first is private teaching. She uses approach to the Sheila. She makes close relationship with Sheila. She looking for Sheila’s background life, she understands Sheila’s character and then. She gives good treatment to the Sheila. Second ways is making a small group in teaching class. The activities in that groups are guide drawing, empty chair games and fingers painting. Sheila follows that activity happyly day by day her bad behaviour has undercomtrol and then she become a good girl.
