Abstract

This study aimed to enhance the students’ ability in getting reading comprehension. The research design of this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR). To do this research, the researcher uses observation and test. The subject of the research is the second grade students of Mts Miftahul Huda Silir. There are 23 students as the sample. The criterion of success is the students’ participation and students’ score test if the students get 75 minimally from the criteria of minimum score (KKM). The result of the research shows that the researcher has two cycles to implement time repeated reading successfully . In this research the researcher took a test of their improvement in each cycle. Before cycle held the researcher do the pre –cycle test and found the mean is 71.82 by percentage of successful is 34% (8 students out of 23) passed the test. In the first cycle the researcher found the mean of the score of the students’ reading was 74.76 by percentage of successful is 65% (15 students out of 23)passed the test. In the second cycle the researcher found the mean of the score of the students’ reading was 82.43 by percentage of successful is 86 % (20 students out of 23) passed the test. The result of the research shows that the students improve their ability in reading comprehension by using time repeated reading. They are better in reading and answer the question, the fell understand if they always reread the passage than in the pre-test. Timed Repeated Reading also can improve the criterion of minimum completion or kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM) in reading skill. It can be known from the result of the score test. Finally, the advantages of using method are that the students cycle 2 was successful and it does not need to revise the treatment.
