Abstract

The objective of this study is to investigate students’ perception and students’ problem on the use of electronic book (e-book) at academic level in IAIN Kediri. In order to achieve the objective of this research, the researcher designs a survey research. The subject of the research was the students in Language Assessment and Testing Development (LATD) at IAIN Kediri. It was done by sharing the questionnaire to 32 students of the fifth semester in assessment classroom because most of the material sources of LATD used e-book. After distributing the questionnaire, the next step was interviewing random students. Then, the result of questionnaire was calculated by using Microsoft Excel. For supporting the questionnaire, the researcher interviewed two LATD students randomly. In the result of finding, most of the students agree and have positive responses toward the using of e-book to support their English learning, particularly in LATD. In the result, anytime and anywhere access is the main opinion students if using ebook. Although most of the students agree about using e-book, however e-book also has some weakness. The main problem is that using e-book can make fatigue eyes. However, most of respondents of the questionnaire and interviewees agree if using e-book more effective than printed book in learning. It can be concluded that in LATD at academic in IAIN Kediri is more dominant in using e-book because it is more effective and needed in learning.
