Abstract
Publishing research articles in a journal needs special attention and effort. One crucial factor to achieve a successful writing of research articles is an organized structure of every section. In order to construct and structure the writing of its various section in research articles. The author’s knowledge of lexical bundles is necessary. Consequently, the present study attempts to discover the manifestation of lexical bundles in academic discourse research in all subgenre parts. The primary focus of this study is seeking each representation of four-word bundles across the text. For this aim, a corpus of 360 texts was collected containing published research articles of SINTA indexed journal. Quantitative and qualitative analyses were employed in this study in order to analyze the lexical bundles. By using AntConc software, the criteria setting for lexical bundles identification is the frequency of at least 40 cases per million words and occurring in at least 10% of texts fall into quantitative part. Next, the qualitative analysis includes classiffication of the identified bundle structurally and functionally. Analysis reveals 144 marked variations of lexical bundles. Additionally, the distribution category in each division of structure and function taxonomy was applied differently across the writers of published research articles. Furthermore, the results of the present study provide insight for how lexical bundles are utilized in a research article. Thus, the awareness of academic lexical bundles offers an important means in academic language use.
