To reach the success in teaching learning process, teacher needs a new method as a variation in teaching. The tittle of this study is “The Effectiveness of Bamboo Dancing to Develop Students in Speaking Ability at Eighth Grade Students of SMPN Bandarkedungmulyo Jombang”. The objective of this study is to know whether teaching speaking using Bamboo Dancing is effective or not. This research used experimental quantitative design. The number of the object is 62 students who are the eighth grade students of SMPN Bandarkedungmulyo and divided two groups (experimental and control group). Each group was taught in different treatment. The experimental was taught using Bamboo Dancing and control group was taught without using Bamboo Dancing. The researcher used two tests to measure the students speaking ability, they are pre-test and post-test. To know the effectiveness of Bamboo Dancing the researcher used MANN-WHITNEY U-Test. The result of the statistical computation of MANN-WHITNEY U-Test the ranked scores of the two strategy used were different. Then, there is different students’ achievement in speaking using bamboo dancing method with significant value is 0.00 which is lower than 0.05 (0.00<0.05).
